Eligibility requirements are straightforward but mandatory. Candidates must possess an MBBS or BDS degree recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI) or Dental Council of India (DCI) respectively, along with completion of the mandatory rotating internship. Most importantly, registration with the State Medical Council/Dental Council or MCI/DCI is absolutely essential before joining the institute. Without valid registration, selected candidates will not be permitted to take up the appointment.
The age limit for Junior Resident positions is set at a maximum of 37 years, with relaxations as per government rules. Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates are eligible for age relaxation up to 5 years, while OBC candidates can avail relaxation of 3 years. Persons with Benchmark Disabilities enjoy even more liberal age relaxation - 10 years for General category, 13 years for OBC category, and 15 years for SC/ST category candidates.

Terms and Conditions of Employment
Important terms and conditions govern this ad-hoc appointment. The appointment is purely temporary for 3 months from the date of joining and can be terminated at any time without prior notice. The appointee will not be entitled to benefits like Provident Fund, Pension, Gratuity, Medical Attendance Treatment, seniority, promotion, or any other benefits available to regular government servants. The selected candidates must serve as whole-time employees and cannot engage in private practice or any other paid assignment during their tenure.
Leave entitlement will be governed as per Department of Personnel and Training guidelines. The appointee will be required to take an oath of allegiance to the Constitution of India upon joining. Selected candidates will not have any claim or right for regular posts in AIIMS Gorakhpur, and this ad-hoc cadre will not be merged with the regular cadre of the institute.
