Detailed Eligibility Criteria for HVF Junior Technician Posts

Educational Qualification Requirements:

Option 1 - ITI Qualified Candidates: Candidates must possess National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) OR National Trade Certificate (NTC) OR State Trade Certificate (STC) in the relevant trade from an Industrial Training Institute (ITI) recognized by National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT) or State Council for Vocational Training (SCVT). The ITI course should be of minimum 1-2 years duration depending on the trade. Trades include: Fitter, Turner, Machinist, Welder (Gas & Electric), Electrician, Electronics Mechanic, Instrument Mechanic, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Mechanic, Mechanic Motor Vehicle, Painter, Plumber, Carpenter, Sheet Metal Worker, Foundry Man, Heat Treatment, Tool & Die Maker, Electroplater, Pattern Maker, and other relevant technical trades. Option 2 - Experience-based Eligibility: Candidates who do not possess ITI certificates but have passed Class 10 (Matriculation) or equivalent examination from a recognized board AND have practical work experience in the relevant trade for a minimum period of 3-5 years in an industrial establishment, manufacturing unit, or workshop can also apply. Experience certificate on company letterhead with proper seal and signature is mandatory. The experience should be specifically in the trade for which the candidate is applying. Computer Knowledge: Basic knowledge of computer operations and MS Office is desirable for all positions. Candidates with NCVT-CIT or similar computer certificates will be given preference.

Trade-wise Specific Requirements:

For Fitter Trade: Knowledge of fitting operations, use of hand tools, measuring instruments, basic machining, assembly and disassembly of mechanical components. For Turner Trade: Proficiency in lathe operations, turning operations, thread cutting, taper turning, knowledge of cutting tools and speeds. For Machinist Trade: Knowledge of operating milling machines, drilling machines, grinding machines, and other machine tools with precision. For Welder Trade: Proficiency in arc welding, gas welding, cutting operations, knowledge of welding safety, ability to read welding symbols. For Electrician Trade: Knowledge of electrical wiring, maintenance of electrical equipment, motors, transformers, basic electronics, safety protocols. For Electronics Mechanic: Understanding of electronic circuits, troubleshooting, repair of electronic equipment, knowledge of digital and analog systems.

Physical Standards:

Candidates must be physically fit to work in industrial environment. Medical fitness certificate will be required at the time of joining. Candidates should have: Normal vision (with or without glasses); Normal hearing; Ability to stand for long hours; No physical disabilities that hinder work in production shops; Ability to handle tools and equipment safely.

Selection Process for HVF Avadi Junior Technician Recruitment 2026

The selection will be conducted through a rigorous evaluation process as per Defence Production Department guidelines:

Stage 1: Scrutiny of Applications

All applications received within the prescribed deadline will be scrutinized by the Recruitment Cell, HVF Avadi.
