JK Bank Apprentices Recruitment 2026 Notification Out - Apply Online for 614 Posts
JK Bank Apprentices Recruitment 2026-27 is a one-year apprenticeship engagement opportunity under the Apprentices Act, 1961 and the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme. This recruitment is not a regular bank job and it should not be confused with clerk, probationary officer or permanent staff recruitment. The purpose of the programme is practical banking exposure, branch-level learning and work-place training for eligible graduates. Jammu & Kashmir Bank has notified 614 apprentice seats across the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir, Union Territory of Ladakh and selected Rest of India clusters. The notification is useful for fresh graduates who passed their graduation on or after 01 January 2022 and want structured exposure to banking operations.

The bank has stated that selected apprentices will be engaged in branches or offices of the bank in the respective district or region at the discretion of the bank. A candidate must choose only one district or area while applying. If more than one district or area is chosen through multiple applications, the bank may consider the latest valid application, but candidates should avoid duplicate submissions because mistakes in region choice can create problems at the later stage. The number of vacancies is tentative and may increase or decrease as per bank requirement. Candidates should also remember that training seat allotment is not a guaranteed posting at a preferred branch; the bank may allot training location according to administrative needs.

The broad vacancy split is 461 seats in the UT of J&K, 18 seats in the UT of Ladakh and 135 seats in Rest of India clusters. Important J&K districts include Srinagar 75, Jammu 75, Baramulla 35, Anantnag 30, Budgam 30, Kathua 20, Pulwama 20, Rajouri 19, Kupwara 18 and other districts. Ladakh has Kargil 8 and Leh 10. Rest of India clusters include Delhi 42, Mumbai/Greater Mumbai 26, Lucknow 20, Bangalore 19 and Mohali 28. This district and cluster-based structure is important because the merit list is prepared district/region and category wise. A candidate should therefore apply for the area where he or she can practically join training and where the local/official language condition can be satisfied.

Eligibility is straightforward but strict. Candidates must be graduates from a recognized university or institute and should have passed graduation on or after 01 January 2022. Only graduates are eligible to apply for apprenticeship under NATS as per the notification. In addition, candidates should be proficient in the local or official language of the selected region and should have studied that language as a subject in 10th or 12th standard. The age limit is 20 to 28 years as on 01 January 2026, with relaxation for SC, ST, OBC, PwBD and other categories as per Government rules.

The training period is 12 months. Apprentices are eligible for a monthly stipend of ₹13,500, consisting of ₹9,000 bank share and ₹4,500 government share through DBT for eligible candidates. The bank also mentions conveyance entitlement up to ₹1,250 per month. No other allowances or benefits are available. Candidates who have already undergone apprenticeship in J&K Bank or any other organization, are pursuing apprenticeship, or have one year or more job experience after acquiring the educational qualification are not eligible. This point is often missed by applicants; apprenticeship is intended for first-time training and not for candidates who already have significant post-qualification work experience.

The selection will be through an online written test. The test will have 100 questions for 100 marks and a total time of 60 minutes. The paper includes General Awareness & English Comprehension with 50 questions for 50 marks and Quantitative Aptitude & Reasoning Ability with 50 questions for 50 marks. There is negative marking of one-fourth mark for every wrong answer. The examination will be conducted only in English. The bank will prepare merit list district/region and category wise. If two or more candidates score the same marks, the candidate higher in age will be placed higher in merit.

The application fee is ₹700 for unreserved category and ₹500 for reserved category candidates. Payment is online only and bank transaction charges are extra. Candidates must first register on the NATS portal and complete 100% of their profile. Mobile, Aadhaar and bank account must be inter-linked and DBT should be enabled in the bank account. After NATS registration, candidates need to apply through the J&K Bank career link/IBPS registration page, upload photograph, signature, thumb impression and handwritten declaration, pay the fee and save the final application. Keep the NATS enrolment number, registration number, password, fee receipt and application printout safely for examination and future document verification. The last date has been extended on the official career page, so applicants should rely on the latest career-page notice while applying.
A practical preparation strategy is to treat this apprentice test like a compact banking aptitude exam. General Awareness should include banking terms, current affairs, financial inclusion, RBI-related basics, digital banking, simple economic updates and J&K/region awareness where relevant. English Comprehension needs reading speed and accuracy, while Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning Ability need regular practice because the total time is only one hour. Since negative marking is applicable, random guessing can reduce the final score. Prepare with mock tests, revise graduation documents early, keep Aadhaar and bank account DBT issues resolved, and choose the application district carefully because training is linked to the selected district/region.
