MECON Experienced Professionals Recruitment 2026 Notification Out - Apply Online for 103 Engineer, Asst Engineer and More Posts
MECON Experienced Professionals Recruitment 2026 is a contractual engagement drive for professionals who already have hands-on project, engineering, quality, planning, safety, mining, finance, HR, administration or contracts experience. The advertisement is for Full Time Fixed Tenure (FTFT) engagement through walk-in interview for 103 posts. MECON Limited is a Government of India enterprise under the Ministry of Steel and is known for design, engineering, consultancy, contracting, inspection, construction and project management services. This recruitment is therefore not a fresher vacancy. It is best suited for candidates who can immediately contribute at industrial project sites, mines, steel plant environments, EPC/PMC assignments or project support offices.

The online application window is from 27 April 2026 to 11 May 2026. The advertisement number is 11.73.4.1/2026/Cont/02 dated 23 March 2026. The post codes cover a wide range of roles such as Additional Engineer, Deputy Engineer, Assistant Engineer, Engineer (Safety), Deputy Executive, Assistant Executive and Additional Executive. Disciplines include Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Planning, Quality, Mining, Mineral Processing, Safety, Architecture, HR, Projects, Marketing, Contracts, Environmental, Finance and Administration. Because the number of post codes is high, candidates should not apply only by looking at the broad title. They should check the exact post code, number of posts, qualification, post-qualification experience, age limit, consolidated pay and contract duration.

The cut-off date for deciding age and post-qualification work experience is 23 March 2026. Upper age limit is generally shown as 50 years in the post table, and experience requirement varies by role. Senior roles may require 9 to 16 years of relevant experience, while Assistant Engineer/Assistant Executive roles may require 2 to 5 years depending on the post. The consolidated monthly pay also differs according to level, with examples such as ₹45,050, ₹54,990, ₹67,860 and ₹78,390 shown in the advertisement for various post levels. Some posts are initially for 1 or 2 years, while many are for longer project-linked periods. Candidates should check the exact contract duration for their post because fixed tenure engagement does not automatically mean permanent employment.

Qualification requirements are discipline-specific. Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Mining, Planning and Contracts roles generally require an engineering degree in the relevant discipline. Some positions accept diploma or other degree holders with additional safety/HSE certification. Mineral Processing roles may allow B.E./B.Tech in Mineral Processing, Mechanical, Chemical or Metallurgical Engineering, or B.Sc/M.Sc Chemistry as per the exact post. HR roles require PG degree, PG diploma, MBA, MSW or MA with HRM/IR/Personnel Management/OD/HRD/Labour Welfare specialization. Finance roles require CA or CMA final qualification. Architecture requires Bachelor in Architecture with relevant design software exposure. Environmental post mentions a Master’s degree in Life Sciences such as Zoology, Botany, Environmental Science or Biotechnology.

The application fee is ₹500 for UR, OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) and EWS candidates. SC, ST, PwD, Ex-servicemen and internal candidates are exempted from fee payment. Fee has to be paid online through MECON’s payment gateway in the application form, and no other mode is accepted. Once paid, fee will not be refunded. Candidates must click the Verify button after payment to update the application status as Submitted. Applications without fee or with less fee can be rejected, so the payment confirmation step is important.

The selection mode is walk-in interview. MECON may change the mode if required at management discretion. The date and time of walk-in interview will be uploaded on the careers page of the official MECON website. Scrutiny of application and documents will be carried out on the date of walk-in interview. If any claim made in the application is not supported by documents, the candidate may not be allowed to appear for interview and TA will not be paid. The final list of selected candidates will be uploaded on MECON’s website and candidates may also be informed through registered email.

While applying, candidates must upload recent photograph, signature, proof of age, qualification certificates, all semester/year mark sheets, experience certificates, PAN, Aadhaar, caste/EWS/PwD certificate if applicable, ex-servicemen documents if applicable and other required documents. Every scanned document should be legible, self-attested, not encrypted and not password-protected. In case of multiple documents, they may need to be merged into a single PDF within the permitted size. Government/PSU/Autonomous body employees must produce NOC at interview or follow proper channel conditions. Original documents must be brought for verification during walk-in interview. Applicants should keep the same email and mobile active because all announcements, updates and communication are made through MECON website/email.

The most important practical advice is to map your experience to the advertised post before applying. A candidate with general experience but without project-specific exposure may face rejection during scrutiny. For example, planning posts mention Primavera/MS Project, progress monitoring, MIS reporting, multidisciplinary coordination and delay analysis; quality posts expect QA/QC exposure in mechanical or civil projects; contracts posts require tendering, contractor bill checking, claims and contract closure experience. Apply only for the post where qualification, experience, certificates and site exposure can be documented clearly. This makes the application stronger and reduces confusion at the interview stage.
