Both positions are on a consolidated pay basis for an initial contract period.

Junior Technical Officer (Level-6)
Essential Qualification (Any one): Four years Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences (B.Sc Hons, BS, BS-MS) with Biotechnology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Genetics, Zoology from recognized university OR Bachelor of Veterinary Science (BVSc) OR Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharma) OR Master's degree (MSc) in Life Sciences with specialization in Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Cell Biology, Immunology, Animal Sciences. Desirable: Research experience 1-2 years; CSIR-NET/GATE/DBT-JRF qualified; Publications in scientific journals; Proficiency in molecular biology techniques; Animal handling experience; Statistical software knowledge. Senior Technical Officer (Level-7)
Essential Qualification: Master's degree (MSc/MVSc/M.Pharma) in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Veterinary Sciences with minimum 55% marks. Essential Experience: Minimum 3-5 years post-qualification research experience in recognized institution in animal cell culture, molecular biology, transgenic technology, immunology. Desirable: PhD pursuing/completed; NET/GATE/JRF qualified; First author publications in SCI/Scopus journals; Advanced techniques experience (CRISPR, NGS, proteomics); Grant writing experience. General Requirements:
Computer skills (MS Office, scientific software); Excellent English communication; Medical fitness for lab work; High ethical standards.

Selection Process
Stage 1: Application Screening - Verification of eligibility criteria. Stage 2: Written Test - Objective type exam on Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Genetics, Biochemistry, research methodology, analytical reasoning, general awareness. MCQ format, 2-3 hours duration, 100 marks, minimum qualifying marks required. Stage 3: Skill Assessment - Practical test for laboratory techniques, equipment handling, experimental problem-solving, safety practices. Stage 4: Personal Interview - Assessment of subject knowledge, research aptitude, technical skills, communication, previous experience, awareness of NIAB research. Stage 5: Document Verification - Original certificates verification. Final Merit: Based on written test, practical test (if applicable), and interview performance. No TA/DA provided.
