PGIMER Recruitment 2026 for Senior Residents, Senior Medical Officers and Junior/Senior Demonstrators is a major medical teaching and hospital recruitment notification for tenure posts. Demonstrator posts may require relevant medical, dental, M.Sc., Ph.D. or other specified qualifications depending on the department. Candidates who have already completed three years of Senior Residency in a particular discipline or have done DM/M.Ch. are not eligible for Senior Resident in that discipline as per the guidelines. Qualification should be valid as on 30 June 2026. Candidates appearing in final examination in June 2026 may be eligible only if they obtain and submit the final qualifying pass certificate by 30 June 2026.

The selection process has 100 total marks. The first stage is CBT for 75 marks. The CBT will be held on 22 May 2026, duration 50 minutes, with 50 questions of 1.5 marks each. There is negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer. On the basis of CBT, candidates will be shortlisted department-wise and category-wise in 1:3 ratio for further process. Shortlisted candidatesโ€™ applications and documents will be scrutinized, and only eligible candidates will be called for document verification and departmental interview/assessment for 25 marks. Departmental assessment may include clinical evaluation, laboratory testing, structured viva or personal interview depending on the post. Minimum qualifying marks are 40% separately for General/EWS and 35% separately for SC/ST/OBC in both CBT and departmental interview/assessment.

Exam cities are Chandigarh (Tricity), Delhi/NCR, Hyderabad and Kolkata. The city chosen at application stage is allotted subject to payment confirmation and availability, generally on first-come first-serve basis.
