The recruitment is for 08 positions distributed across different medical specialties at ESIC Hospital Kakinada. The posts include Full Time Specialists and Senior Residents in various departments. Full Time Specialist positions are available in specialties like General Medicine, General Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Pediatrics, Orthopedics, Anesthesiology, Radiology, Pathology, or other clinical departments. These specialists provide expert medical care, perform specialized procedures, supervise junior doctors, conduct teaching rounds, and ensure quality clinical services.
Senior Resident positions are available across multiple clinical specialties. Educational Qualification Requirements
For Full Time Specialist positions, candidates must possess a Post Graduate Degree (MD/MS/DNB) in the relevant specialty from a Medical Council of India (now National Medical Commission) recognized medical college or institution. The PG degree should be in the specialty for which applying - such as MD Medicine, MD Pediatrics, MS Surgery, MS Orthopedics, MD Anesthesia, MD Radiology, MD Pathology, MS Obstetrics & Gynecology, or equivalent recognized qualifications. Candidates with super-specialty qualifications (DM/MCh) can also apply and may get preference.
For Senior Resident positions, candidates must possess Post Graduate Degree (MD/MS) or Post Graduate Diploma (Diploma in concerned specialty) from MCI/NMC recognized institutions. Candidates who have completed DNB (Diploma of National Board) in relevant specialty are also eligible. Final year PG students who have completed their course but awaiting degree/diploma can apply provisionally, but they must obtain the qualification certificate before joining. All medical qualifications must be registered with respective State Medical Council or MCI/NMC.
Registration Requirements
All candidates must possess valid registration with Andhra Pradesh Medical Council or Medical Council of India (National Medical Commission). The registration should be current and renewed till date. Candidates registered with other State Medical Councils must obtain temporary or permanent registration with AP Medical Council before joining. Failure to produce valid medical registration certificate will disqualify the candidature.
Experience Requirements
For Full Time Specialist positions, post-PG experience is generally preferred but not mandatory for certain specialties. Candidates with 2-5 years of clinical experience after obtaining PG degree may get preference. Experience in government hospitals, medical colleges, or corporate hospitals in relevant specialty is advantageous. For Senior Resident positions, fresh PG degree/diploma holders without experience can also apply. However, candidates with prior experience as junior residents, medical officers, or in similar capacities will be given preference during selection.
Age Limit and Relaxation
The age limit varies according to the position. For Senior Resident positions, the maximum age limit is generally 40-45 years. For Full Time Specialist positions, the age limit can extend up to 45-50 years. The upper age limit for certain specialist positions may be relaxed up to 69 years considering the specialized nature of posts and experience requirements. Age is calculated as on the last date of application submission (14 February 2026).
Age relaxation is provided as per Government of India rules: SC/ST candidates get 5 years relaxation, OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates get 3 years relaxation, Persons with Benchmark Disabilities get 10 years relaxation (15 years for SC/ST-PwBD), and Ex-servicemen get relaxation as per Defense Ministry rules. Candidates who have already worked in ESIC or other government hospitals on contractual basis may get age relaxation as per applicable rules. Women candidates may also get relaxation as per ESIC policy.
Salary and Remuneration
The consolidated monthly remuneration for Full Time Specialists is approximately Rs. 1,28,630/- (Rupees One Lakh Twenty Eight Thousand Six Hundred Thirty only). This is an all-inclusive monthly payment without separate allowances. The remuneration is competitive compared to similar positions in government and private sector hospitals. Senior Resident positions carry remuneration in the range of Rs. 70,000 to Rs. 90,000 per month depending on the specialty and qualification (MD/MS or Diploma).
The remuneration is paid monthly through bank transfer. In addition to salary, doctors may be eligible for night duty allowances, emergency duty allowances, and other special allowances as per hospital policy. The contractual engagement provides valuable experience and can serve as a stepping stone for permanent positions in ESIC or other government medical institutions through subsequent recruitments.
Nature of Engagement
The engagement is purely on contractual basis initially for a period of 11 months, which may be extended further based on performance and organizational requirements. The contract can be renewed annually subject to satisfactory performance and availability of positions. The engagement does not confer any right for absorption or regularization in ESIC. However, performing well in contractual positions significantly enhances prospects for selection in future regular recruitments conducted by ESIC or other government medical services.
Contractual doctors are expected to maintain professional conduct, follow hospital rules and regulations, be available for emergency duties and on-call responsibilities, maintain patient records as per standards, participate in continuing medical education activities, and contribute to quality patient care. The contract can be terminated by either party with one month notice or one month remuneration in lieu thereof.
Selection Process
The selection will be done through a Walk-in Interview process. Eligible candidates must appear in person at the specified venue on the scheduled interview dates with all original documents and self-attested photocopies. The interview will be conducted by a Selection Committee comprising senior medical administrators, specialists, and HR officials from ESIC Hospital Kakinada.
The interview will assess candidates' clinical knowledge, practical skills, communication ability, attitude towards patient care, willingness to work in different shifts including nights and emergencies, and overall suitability for the position. Candidates may be asked questions related to their specialty, case scenarios, management protocols, recent advances in their field, and general medical knowledge. Practical examination or assessment of clinical skills may also be conducted for certain positions.
Selection is based purely on merit and performance in the interview. The Selection Committee prepares a merit list, and candidates ranking high are offered appointment subject to document verification and medical fitness. Selected candidates must join within the stipulated time, failing which the offer may be given to the next candidate on the merit list.
Important Dates
