Comprehensive Vacancy Details
The current recruitment notification announces 42 positions distributed across medical specialists, general medical officers, dental officers, paramedical staff, and support personnel:
1. Gynecologist (Specialist): 1 Post - MD/MS in Gynecology and Obstetrics required. The specialist will provide consultation for women's health issues, manage gynecological disorders, conduct antenatal and postnatal check-ups, provide family planning counseling, and coordinate referrals for surgical interventions when required. Experience in geriatric gynecology and management of menopausal health issues will be particularly valuable.
2. Medical Officer: 8 Posts - MBBS qualified doctors will handle general outpatient consultations, diagnose and treat common medical conditions, manage chronic diseases like diabetes, hypertension, and arthritis prevalent among elderly beneficiaries, prescribe medications, maintain patient records, conduct health camps, and provide preventive healthcare guidance. Experience in family medicine, geriatric care, or general practice is essential.
3. Dental Officer: 4 Posts - BDS qualified dental surgeons will provide comprehensive dental services including consultations, tooth extractions, dental fillings, root canal treatments, scaling and polishing, denture fabrication and fitting, oral health education, and maintaining dental equipment. Expertise in prosthetic dentistry and geriatric oral care is desirable.
4. Nursing Assistant: 3 Posts - GNM qualified nurses will assist medical officers during patient examination, administer injections and medications, perform wound dressing and basic nursing procedures, monitor vital signs, maintain nursing documentation, ensure patient comfort, sterilize instruments, and uphold infection control protocols. Experience in general nursing and geriatric patient care is required.
5. Dental Assistant / Dental Hygienist / Dental Technician: 5 Posts - These positions require diploma holders who will assist dental officers during procedures, prepare dental materials, maintain dental instruments through proper sterilization, take dental impressions, fabricate temporary dentures, educate patients on oral hygiene, and manage dental clinic inventory.
6. Laboratory Technician: 3 Posts - Qualified lab technicians will perform routine diagnostic tests including blood tests (CBC, blood sugar, lipid profile), urine analysis, stool examination, basic biochemistry tests, maintain laboratory equipment, ensure quality control, maintain laboratory records, and follow bio-safety protocols.
7. Pharmacist: 3 Posts - B.Pharmacy or Diploma in Pharmacy holders will manage polyclinic pharmacy operations including dispensing medicines as per prescriptions, maintaining drug inventory, ensuring proper storage of medicines, checking expiry dates, maintaining pharmacy registers, coordinating with suppliers for medicine procurement, and providing medication counseling to patients.
8. Physiotherapist: 1 Post - BPT (Bachelor of Physiotherapy) qualified professional will provide physiotherapy services for orthopedic conditions, post-stroke rehabilitation, pain management, mobility improvement exercises, maintain physiotherapy equipment, conduct group exercises for geriatric patients, and maintain treatment records.
9. DEO / Clerk: 1 Post - Data Entry Operator or Clerk will handle computerized patient registration, maintain electronic medical records, generate reports, manage ECHS card verifications, handle correspondence, maintain office files, and provide administrative support to medical staff.
10. Driver: 3 Posts - Drivers with valid HMV licenses will operate polyclinic vehicles for transporting staff, patients, medicines, samples, and official documents. Responsibilities include vehicle maintenance, maintaining logbooks, ensuring road safety, and coordinating with transport authorities.
11. Female Attendant: 4 Posts - Female attendants will assist in female examination rooms, help women patients during consultations, maintain cleanliness of female waiting areas and washrooms, assist nursing staff, and ensure privacy and dignity of female beneficiaries.
12. Safaiwala (Sanitation Worker): 2 Posts - Responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene of polyclinic premises including consultation rooms, waiting areas, washrooms, laboratory, pharmacy, and surrounding areas. Duties include garbage disposal, sanitization, and ensuring infection control standards.
13. Peon: 2 Posts - Office support staff for file movement, document delivery, assisting in patient registration, maintaining cleanliness, helping in organizing furniture and equipment, and performing other assigned duties.

Reservation Policy for Ex-Servicemen
ECHS follows a structured reservation policy favoring ex-servicemen:
- 60% Reservation: Gynecologist, Medical Officer, and Dental Officer positions
- 70% Reservation: All paramedical and support staff positions including Nursing Assistant, Dental Assistant, Lab Technician, Pharmacist, Physiotherapist, DEO/Clerk, Driver, Female Attendant, Safaiwala, Peon, and Chowkidar
This reservation policy ensures priority employment for ex-servicemen who have served in medical, dental, nursing, laboratory, pharmacy, or other trades in the Armed Forces. Honorably discharged personnel with relevant qualifications and experience receive preference during selection.
Educational Qualifications and Experience Requirements
For Gynecologist: MD/MS in Gynecology and Obstetrics from a recognized medical university. Minimum 5 years of post-PG clinical experience in gynecology practice. Valid registration with State Medical Council is mandatory. Experience in managing geriatric gynecological issues and menopausal disorders preferred.
For Medical Officer: MBBS degree from recognized university with valid Medical Council registration. Minimum 5 years of post-internship clinical experience. Candidates with postgraduate qualifications, family medicine certification, or geriatric medicine experience will be given preference.

Selection Process
The selection will be conducted through a structured process:
Stage 1: Scrutiny of Applications - All received applications will be scrutinized for eligibility criteria including qualifications, experience, age limit, and required certifications. Only candidates meeting all requirements will be shortlisted.
Stage 2: Document Verification - Shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification where original certificates will be checked against submitted photocopies. Any discrepancy will lead to rejection.
Stage 3: Interview - A competent interview board will assess candidates' professional knowledge, clinical/technical skills, experience, communication abilities, and suitability for the position. For medical and dental positions, clinical case discussions may be conducted. For paramedical positions, practical knowledge assessment may be included.
Stage 4: Final Selection - Candidates will be selected based on interview performance, qualifications, experience, and preference to ex-servicemen as per reservation policy. Selected candidates will be informed through registered post or email.
Important Terms and Conditions
- Candidates must not have any employment or financial stake in any ECHS empaneled medical facility or hospital
- Services must not have been terminated on disciplinary grounds from any ECHS establishment
- Must not have been denied second-year contract extension from ECHS for being unsuitable
- Selected candidates must join within 15 days of receiving appointment letter
- Medical fitness certificate from authorized military hospital required before joining
- All appointments are contractual for 11 months initially, renewable annually
- No TA/DA for attending interview
