State: Jharkhand |
Last Date: 2026-02-28
Uranium Corporation of India Limited (UCIL), a prestigious Public Sector Undertaking under the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India, has announced a golden opportunity for young talents by releasing the Advertisement Number 03/2026 for the engagement of 364 Apprentices across its various operational units in Jharkhand. This large-scale recruitment drive is being conducted under the provisions of the Apprentices Act, 1961 and subsequent amendments made in 1973, along with the Apprentices Rules 1992 which were further amended in 2019 and 2025. UCIL is India's premier organization responsible for mining and processing of uranium ore, and this apprenticeship program offers an exceptional platform for fresh graduates, diploma holders, and ITI-certified individuals to gain practical, hands-on experience in one of the most technologically advanced sectors of the country. The 364 vacancies are distributed across three major operational units located in Jharkhand: Jaduguda, Narwapahar, and Turamdih, all of which are state-of-the-art uranium mining and processing facilities. The apprenticeship positions are categorized into three distinct streams: Trade Apprentices (for ITI pass candidates), Technician Apprentices (for Diploma holders in Engineering), and Graduate Apprentices (for Bachelor degree holders in Engineering, Commerce, Science, and Management). This comprehensive program spans across multiple disciplines including Mining Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Geology, Human Resource Management, Finance & Accounts, Information Technology, and several other technical and non-technical domains. Selected apprentices will receive a monthly stipend as prescribed under the Apprentices Act and Rules, which varies based on educational qualification and the category of apprenticeship. The training period will be for one year, during which apprentices will work under experienced professionals and mentors, gaining invaluable industry exposure, technical skills, and understanding of real-world applications of their theoretical knowledge. The selection process is completely merit-based, ensuring transparency and equal opportunity for all eligible candidates. Importantly, the application process is entirely online and free of cost, making it accessible to candidates from all economic backgrounds. Interested candidates must register themselves on the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) portal or National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) portal as per their qualification category. The online application window opens on 1st February 2026 and closes on 28th February 2026, providing ample time for candidates to complete their registration and submission process. Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship training, candidates will be awarded a National Apprenticeship Certificate, which is recognized across industries and significantly enhances employability. While there is no guarantee of absorption into regular employment post-apprenticeship, UCIL has a track record of providing preference to well-performing apprentices during regular recruitment drives. This opportunity is particularly valuable for candidates looking to establish their careers in the nuclear energy and mining sectors, which offer excellent growth prospects, job stability, and the satisfaction of contributing to India's energy security and self-reliance.
